Well,there are times when you wish to build a social networking website with wordpress Mu.

The best solution available is buddypress(a set of plugins developed by Andy Peatling).

Here is what they say about it on buddypress’s website

BuddyPress will transform an installation of WordPress MU into a social network platform.BuddyPress is a set of WordPress MU specific plugins, each plugin adding a distinct new feature. BuddyPress contains all the features you’d expect from WordPress but aims to let members socially interact

In my view, they are quiet right.I used buddypress on one of the  wordpress Mu based website of my client and it worked  very well.It is full of almost all features you need for a social networking website.

The most important thing is buddypress was acquired by Automattic(The parent company of wordpress),and is under active development.

I wished to share here something,I built a plugin to allow users to enter their own password,while registering for an account on wordpress Mu+buddypress integrated websites.
